Smartrail is an electronic driver assistance system for enhancing RTG controls and operation. To increase the productivity of the terminal, Smartrail helps the RTG operators to use higher travelling speed. Handling time per container can be minimized and the location of the RTGs is known at all times. In addition, the number of misplaced containers is decreased. All of this can be successfully achieved when the RTGs in the yard are equipped with the Kalmar Smartrail.
